فکر می کنم پیش تر نیز در مورد TOP500
SUPERCOMPUTER مطلبی نوشته بودم.23-مین ویرایش از این لیست همین ماه منتشر شد و
این بار دستاوردهای IBM اکثریت را دارا هستند.
در این لیست 500 تایی سهم IBM معادل 224 سیستم و 44.8 درصد
می باشد.

IBM دارای بیشترین توان محاسباتی با قدرتی بیش از 407
ترافلاپ است.( 50 درصد کل توان محاسباتی )
– IBM بیشترین سهم در 10 سیستم برتر را
دارد. ( 3 )
– IBM بیشترین سهم در 20 سیستم برتر را
دارد. ( 10 )
– IBM بیشترین سهم در 100 سیستم برتر را
دارد. ( 68 )
– IBM بیشترین سهم کلاسترهای مبتنی بر
لینوکس را در 500 سیستم برتر را دارد. ( 150 )

نیز
Blue Gene/L است، که نسخه مقدماتی آن 2 سهم بین 10 سوپر کامپیوتر برتر را دارا
است.نسخه نهایی Blue Gene/L در Lawrence Livermore National Lab
اوایل سال 2005
نصب خواهد شد.
Blue Gene is an IBM supercomputing project dedicated to building a new
family of supercomputers optimized for bandwidth, scalability and the
ability to handle large amounts of data while consuming a fraction of the
power and floor space required by today’s fastest systems. The full Blue
Gene/L machine is being built for the Lawrence Livermore
National Laboratory in California, and will have a peak speed of 360 teraflops. When completed
in 2005, IBM expects Blue Gene/L to lead the Top500 supercomputer list. A
second Blue Gene/L machine is planned for ASTRON, a leading
astronomy
organization in the Netherlands. IBM and its partners are currently
exploring a growing list of applications including hydrodynamics, quantum
chemistry,
molecular dynamics, climate modeling and financial modeling.
